<모듈 창작 워크숍>은 게임 플레이를 통해 이야기의 조각들을 조합하여 도시괴담을 생성하는 집단 창작 실험이다. 참여자들은 도시의 경계 공간과 그곳에서 살아가는 존재들이 적힌 프롬프트 카드를 가지고, 각자의 두려움을 키워드로 적은 육각형 타일을 배치하며 이야기를 확장해 나간다. 이야기는 다른 이들의 조각들과 얽히며 예기치 않은 흐름을 만들고, 각자의 두려움은 타인의 문장 속에서 변형되고 다시 엮인다. 구성된 이야기들은 괴담집과 공동의 이야기 지도로 남게 된다.
워크숍은 이야기의 조각들이 어떻게 관계를 형성하고, 그 속에서 어떤 사회적 맥락이 드러나는지를 바라본다. 예기치 않은 이야기의 패턴이 등장하고, 익숙한 풍경은 낯선 감각의 기호로 치환된다. 개인의 두려움을 넘어 타인의 이야기와 맞물리며 확장되는 괴담은 사회적 불안과 기억을 공유하는 장치로 기능한다. <모듈 창작 워크숍>은 괴담의 형식으로 동시대의 억압과 망각, 주변화된 사건들을 다시 이야기하고, 기억과 상상이 교차하는 잠정적 아카이브를 지향한다.
Module Creation Workshop is a collective creation experiment that generates urban legends by assembling fragments of narrative through gameplay. Participants work with prompt cards describing liminal urban spaces and the beings that inhabit them, while placing hexagonal tiles inscribed with keywords drawn from their own fears to expand the story. As the narrative becomes entangled with fragments contributed by others, unexpected flows emerge, and individual fears are transformed and rewoven within someone else’s sentences. The resulting stories remain as a collection of urban legends and a shared narrative map.
The workshop attends to how fragments of stories form relationships with one another and what social contexts surface through these connections. Unanticipated narrative patterns appear, and familiar landscapes are replaced by signs charged with unfamiliar sensations. As urban legends extend beyond individual fear and intertwine with the stories of others, they function as a device for sharing social anxieties and memories. Through the form of the urban legend, Module Creation Workshop seeks to retell contemporary forms of oppression, erasure, and marginalized events, and to build a provisional archive where memory and imagination intersect.
